In this still image,low key lighting is used to create enhance shadow on the woman to create a horror effect and creates suspense.A depict of under lighting is used to shine light on only her face to create tension since this is used mainly in horror genres.



In this still image,high key lighting is used to create a more distinct and clearer image of the characters face that may be symbolising his importance and makes the audience focus on his facial expressions. It seems as if back lighting is used since the background seems quite vivid.

low key lighting is used to create a dark and mysterious atmosphere which makes the actor camouflage with the background . The creator purposely uses under lighting to show a part of the character implying that the creator only wants us to show certain parts of him so the character appears mysterious.

Shield for murder is based on a detective trying to find a murderer and in film noir there is always a hero and in this case that is the detective.The black and grey theme throughout the film portrays the layout of a film noir film. The dark lightning which creates an ominous effect is common in film noir genre. The genre is that of a western post world war due to their speech and costumes.
